Dear Journal,
Life seems unfair to me. Or rather, death does. Life itself is beautiful. But sometimes, without a sound, its fateful twin sister comes and carries away a spark of light. I am aware of the natural cycle of things, and that the end is not truly an end. This infinite, mystical dance is majestic. But Russian roulette is awful.
Yet I do not believe in chance. Who decides? Because honestly, I do not know what criteria all this is based on, but fate sometimes gets it wrong. Moirai, this message is for you: change your glasses, girls. I do not like this uncomfortable feeling of not understanding the game. Well, that is not quite it, because I love mysteries, but I hate it when things are unfair. So yes, it is a personal point of view, but still, sometimes the wrong thread is cut. And that is awful.
It is awful because once that bond is broken, there is no going back. That is probably what makes life so precious. This whole that hangs by a thread is fascinating. From the Garden of Eden to the banks of the Styx there is, in the end, only one path: that of our consciousness. Perhaps the heavenly limbo is the promised land. Oh my journal, see how deep my thoughts are, perhaps as deep as the wounds of my soul in the face of injustice.
Because in the end, it reminds me that my species is playing a role that is not its own. We take lives for no reason, or at least not for the right ones. We kill for profit, out of selfishness, with complete indifference. We are no longer taught how to live together, in harmony with all the kingdoms of our planet. Worse, we discredit our elders, the guardians of our humanity.
I am not the only one lost in this world that is not mine. There are thousands, millions of us wanting another world. And just as many of us who do not know how to get there. But we all have the same compass: our heart. By reconnecting with it, I am convinced we will make the right choices. That, in the end, is what being human is: moving forward into the unknown, with the will to improve the rules for the generations to come.
