Dear Journal,
Do you know that humans say that after the rain comes fine weather? The rain does not bother me; it is useful for Nature, vital in fact. But so is the sun, and it is still nicer to talk with you while feeling the rays of that beautiful star warm my skin. In fact, it is one of the reasons I came to this new region. Here the rain never stays very long; it prefers the lands of the North. The elders even say it visits the landscape less and less.
The media call it global warming. I feel it as a warning. Like: watch out, guys, you are heading straight for the wall again! There is so much beauty around us, it is incredible. Nothing imposes itself, everything finds its place to create balance. In our body, we call it homeostasis. In spirituality, it is called wisdom. It is a long path along which we are led to collaborate with all the shining beauty that surrounds us.
The Earth is alive, but the profusion of life that inhabits it is gradually leaving it. So our shepherds regularly bring leaders together to talk about this terrible phenomenon. For several days, they discuss potential solutions to a problem they created themselves. After working hard, they congratulate each other and fly off happily in their flying machines to the four corners of the world, proud to be helping save our home. Funny, isn’t it? Well, ironic… it makes me angry, a black anger. The kind that comes from the depths of my soul.
Why do they not see what I perceive? Perhaps, in the end, humankind has lost its free will, blinded by the shadow of power. Perhaps after this rain will come fine weather. The Buddha teaches us that hatred never ceases through hatred; it is kindness that reconciles. So perhaps one day this anger will leave and I in turn will be at peace. I wish myself this learning. Meanwhile, I give thanks to Mother Nature, since when I met her long ago, my heart began to vibrate again.
