A cookie is a small text file stored on your computer, tablet or phone when you visit a website. It can, for example, remember the contents of your basket or secure a payment.
The law distinguishes between cookies needed for the site to work, which do not require your consent, and others (advertising, social networks, certain statistics), which may only be set with your consent.
02The essentials
- No advertising cookies and no tracking from one site to another.
- Cookie-free audience measurement, hosted on the site itself.
- Only necessary cookies for the basket, payment and security.
A cookie management banner (Axeptio) appears on your first visit: it lets you accept or refuse optional services, and change your choice at any time.
03Necessary cookies
These cookies are essential for the site to work properly. They are exempt from consent.
- Basket and order (WooCommerce) : remember the contents of your basket and the progress of your gift voucher order. Duration: the session, up to 2 days.
- Secure payment (Stripe) : set only on the payment page, to secure the transaction and prevent fraud. Duration: from 30 minutes to 1 year.
- Language (TranslatePress) : remember the language chosen if you browse the site in another language.
- Security (Wordfence, WordPress) : protect the site against attacks. Login cookies only concern the site administrator.
- Remembering your choices (Axeptio) : store your cookie preferences, so you are not asked again at each visit. Duration: up to 6 months.
04Audience measurement
To know which pages are read and improve the site, traffic is measured with Matomo, a tool installed directly on the site. It is configured without cookies : no information is stored on your device, and the statistics stay on the site’s server, without being passed on to third parties or used for advertising.
05Third-party services
- Google reCAPTCHA : on the newsletter sign-up page, this service protects the form against bots. It may set a technical security cookie and send information to Google.
- Fonts : some fonts are loaded from Google’s servers, which passes on your IP address, without setting a cookie.
- Social networks : the Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn icons are simple links. They set no cookies unless you click on them; once on these networks, their own rules apply.
06Managing cookies
You can change your choices at any time by reopening the Axeptio banner, available via the icon at the bottom of the screen. You can also delete cookies already set or block them in your browser settings: Chrome, Safari, Firefox and Edge all offer this option in their privacy settings. Please note: blocking necessary cookies may prevent the basket or payment from working.
